Description of program

The goals of Children's Home Society of California (CHS) Child Care Injury Prevention Program are: To reduce the number of preventable injuries to children birth to age five occurring in licensed child care settings and to increase providers' knowledge and their ability to implement preventive safety and injury practices in their child care settings. The program provides training modules to newly licensed providers and providers who have received citations for Type A Deficiencies. Specific workshops that focus on how to obtain, interpret and understand basic injury prevention, safety information and best practices include: Understanding Injury Prevention in the Child Care Setting; Understanding and Interpreting Title 22; Supervision: and How to Promote Health and Safety With Children and Parents.
