The CHOC Community Education Child Passenger Safety Program seeks to eliminate barriers to changing behaviors that precede child passenger deaths and injuries for children in accordance with California Vehicle codes 27360 and 27360.5. The focus is on decreasing child passenger deaths and injuries by increasing the correct use of car seats through education and demonstration. The program also seeks to increase the availability of low-cost car seats and booster seats to families that cannot afford appropriate restraints for their children. Child Passenger Safety Education is available in English and Spanish to parents of newborns, pediatric patients, and children in the community. Low-cost car seats and boosters are available for qualifying families. Individual fitting station appointments are available for a fee for participants who request installation assistance.
